Data Aire used EBM Pabst, Rosenberg and Ziehl-Abegg plug fan assemblies in their floor-mounted CRAC series starting in about 2009. The newer g-Force series used nothing but plug fans. CPS stocks many various iterations of the fan assemblies. However, most of these items have undergone upgrades over the years, and replacement scenarios are more complicated to deal with.
Derating of these plenum plug fan assemblies was a common practice at Data Aire. In accordance with this practice, when selecting replacements, CPS researches specific unit requirements, and in the event of derating being necessary, furnishes clear instruction on how the installer should proceed, including manual deration in the field. Special care must be taken in order to accomplish a successful replacement.
CPS offers a retrofit program that includes the necessary research and clear instruction on replacement factors. There are misc. factors sometimes involved, as retrofits can affect the equipment in various ways. This part of our business requires close attention to detail. This offering includes the upgrade of existing, older Data Aire series equipment that had old-style belt-driven, centrifugal fan setups. Replace that maintenance-prone style, with new, direct-drive plenum plug fans.
